A George Munro aged 35 and Mary Munro 35 with children Cathrine aged 7, George aged 4 and Elizabeth 1 arrived aboard the bounty ship "Margaret" on 24 January 1842.
George was listed as an agricultural labourer and could read and write.
The Scotland census 1841 shows the same family living in Edinburgh, but name is spelled "Monro" George is stated to be a hackney coachman.George and children were born Midlothian, but wife Mary is listed as being born Isle of Bute. This information seems to fit well and also with the suggestion that George Munro married a Mary Thomson in Gorbals, Lanarkshire in 1833. the query I have is the gap between cathrine and george jnr. Do you think this suggests that perhaps George re married?
