MUSCATINE, Iowa - Michael J. Wagner, 55, Muscatine, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at his home.

The Rev. Dan Schoepf will officiate. Terry Youngbauer will present the eulogy with vocal and instrumental by Andy Landers and Marcy Each. Casket bearers are Lee Cassabaum, Michael Cassabaum, Joe Ewers, Scott Mobwinkle, Steve Lawrence and Dave Lawrence. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery with military rites by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1565 and American Legion Post 27.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home for Genesis Hospice and the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Wagner was born July 1, 1950, in Lansing, Mich. the son of Lloyd Louis and Viola Nettie Yocum Wagner. He married Janet Lawrence on Jan. 27, 1989, in Las Vegas.

He was an U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1971-72.

He gave a lot of his free time coaching basketball for the Muscatine Y League as well as coaching two traveling basketball teams, Muscatine Magic and Muscatine Spartans. He was a self-employed lifetime farmer and enjoyed cutting wood and attending his kids sporting events.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Samuel Wagner, Jacob Wagner and Viola Wagner, all at home, Kathryn Green and husband Brett and Amanda Wagner, all of Muscatine; his mother, Viola Wagner of Muscatine; two brothers, Joseph Wagner and wife Gloria of Michigan and Donne Wagner and wife Sally of Muscatine; two sisters, Barsha Elzey of California and Susan Baumann and husband Steve, of Minnesota; and two grandchildren, Tony and Kylie.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother in infancy; a sister-in-law, Judy Wagner; a brother-in-law, Freeman Elzey; two nephews, Jeffrey and Joey; and a niece, Jody.
COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa -- Nancy Wagner, 95, Columbus Junction, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at Colonial Manor, Columbus Junction.

Service at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Ron McMenamin will officiate. Burial will be at Indian Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Wagner was born on June 26, 1908, in Wapello, the daughter of William H. and Sarah Houtz Reid. She married Barten E. Wagner on Oct. 31, 1927.

She enjoyed sewing, reading and visiting with friends.

Survivors include a sister, Vinnie Drayfahl of Coralville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Marion, Jim, Harvey and Lewis; five sisters, Minnie, Rebecca, Dolly, Mae and Mary; two half-brothers, David and William; and a half-sister, Rose.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Erma Jean Wagner, 76, St. Louis, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Oct. 23, 2001, in St. Louis.

Graveside Memorial Services are at Conesville Cemetery.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.

Mrs. Wagner was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Columbus Junction, the daughter of Eben and Marie Bebb Williams. She married Kenneth Wagner Sept. 5, 1954, in Waterloo.

For many years she was a nurse and the last of these years as a private nurse in the St. Louis area. She trained as a nurse through the University of Iowa Foundation, Iowa City.

Survivors include three daughters, Christine M. DeLuca and husband John, Kathleen R. Solomon and husband John and Sandra K. Carpenter; four grandsons; a granddaughter; friend, Kenneth R. Wagner; two sisters, Margaret Smith of Columbus Junction and Frances Curtis of Tempe, Ariz.; and a brother, Donald Williams of Conesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
TIPTON, Iowa -- Louis Marvin Wagner, 85, of 1107 Lynn St., Tipton, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, after complications of a stroke.

Service at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Pallbearers are Richard Furchtenicht, Greg O'Hara, Wayne Frauenholtz, Ricky Hefner, Roman Duarte and Jeff Tracy. Honorary pallbearers are Craig Furchtenicht, Chad O'Hara, John Frauenholtz, Christopher Duarte, Wyatt Frauenholtz, Eddie Furchtenicht and Michael Hefner. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, with military rites.

Mr. Wagner was born on July 1, 1917, in Deep River, the son of Willard Clair and Gladys Victoria Waliene Wagner. He married Frances Pauline Garlick in Tipton. She preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1993.

He graduated from Guernsey High School, Guernsey.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a bartender at Schneider's until his retirement.

He was a member of the Tipton American Legion and the Lutheran faith. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and P.O.W.

Survivors include four daughters, Pat Furchtenicht and her husband, Richard, of West Branch, Judy O'Hara and her husband, Greg, of Lost Nation; Jane Frauenholtz and her husband, Wayne, of West Branch and Debra Hefner and her husband, Ricky, of Iowa City; a son, Dennis Wagner of Nebraska; two sisters, Mildred Henien of Guernsey and Esther Oldaker of Marion; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Mabel Evans.
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Joyce Elaine Wagner, 55, of Muscatine, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the home of her daughter.

Service at Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory in Muscatine. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. Liz Curtis will be the vocalist. Pallbearers will be Mark Hargrave, Randy Reynolds, Eric Wagner, Doug Hessman, Doc Livingston and Dave Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers will be Pearl Call, Gary Dusenberrry, Waymond Momon, Jr., Robert Scooter Doerres and Chris Bodman.

Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wagner was born Sept. 24, 1947, at Muscatine, the daughter of Walter and Evva Nicewanner Hargrave.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and loving and caring after her kids and family.

She is survived by two sons, Scott and wife Julie of Illinois City and Jason and wife Jackie of Muscatine; two daughters, Lisa Schroeder of Reynolds and Melissa Paetz of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Matt, Alex, Emma, Anna, Hannah and Emily; her mother Evva Hargrave; five sisters, Grace Danke and husband Kenneth of Muscatine, Irene Livingston and husband Richard of Muscatine, Dorothy Sloan of Muscatine; Joann Latimer and husband Wayne of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Chris Buell and husband Wes of Elmwood, Neb.; two brothers, James Hargrave and wife Verla of Muscatine and Dennis Hargrave and Lisa of Muscatine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Walter; her maternal and paternal grandparents; one nephew and one brother Robert Hargrave.
WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Louise M. Wagner, 92, of West Liberty, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

The Rev. Mario Padilla will officiate.

She donated her body to science.

Mrs. Wagner was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Burlington, Colo.

She married Clifford W. Wagner in 1947 in Burlington.

She worked as a visiting nurse in doctor's offices.

She is survived by a son, Richard Wagner of West Branch; two daughters, Nadine Doane of Blue Springs, Mo. and Norine Piggot of California; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; and six brothers and sisters.
Nicholas Wagner, 17, Iowa City, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of complications of cardiomyopathy.

The Rev. Ronald Lashmit will officiate. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.

He was born March 12, 1989, in Iowa City, the son of Phillis K. Wagner Ellis. He also had a heart birthday on Oct. 8, 1995.

He was recently awarded his high school diploma from Elizabeth Tate High School, Iowa City.

He enjoyed bowling; was one of the biggest fundraisers for the American Heart Association; and was a member of the Heart Friends.

Survivors include his mother, Phillis Ellis and husband Jack of Iowa City; his grandfather, Phillip Wagner and wife Penny of Iowa City; two aunts, Cheryl Schlueter and husband Ron of Tipton and Lisa Wagner and husband Saul Aguirre of Muscatine; and his girlfriend, Kayla Canarr of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janet Wagner and an uncle, Ron Wagner, both in 2001.

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary Elizabeth Wagner, 86, of Muscatine, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at Muscatine Care Center.

Service at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Honorary Bearers will be Tom Fox, Dick Busch, Ray Shellabarger, Crave Hines, and Ray Dietrich. Casketbearers will be Rocky Darting, Jim White, Jim Wester, Scott Mills, Jerry Jones, and Chuck Howard. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.

Mary was born on May 7, 1920, in Muscatine County, the daughter of Warren D. and Eve A. Lawrence Fowler. She married George U. Wagner on June 14, 1939, on the Wagner farm. He preceded her in death in 1972.

She was a 1938 graduate of Letts High School.

She was a former member of the Lady Elks, Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary, Muscatine Hospital Auxiliary, and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. She was a current member of AARP.

Survivors include one son, Dell George Wagner of Muscatine; one grandson, Jason Wagner of Muscatine; and one sister, Lois Hines of Coralville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Leona B. Curtis and Ruth A. Blake.
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Kathleen 'Kathy' M. Wagner, 57, of Muscatine, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Service at Zion Lutheran Church. Reverend Paul Ostrem will officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice in Kathy's name.
Kathleen was born on May 25, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Alex and Irma Wendlandt Bender.
She was a graduate of Muscatine High School in 1966, and the University of Iowa in 1971, with a degree in pharmacy.
She worked as a pharmacist from 1971 to 2003 at Muscatine General Hospital and Unity Hospital.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed stitching, cooking, bowling, and the Arts.
Survivors include her former husband and current companion, Dell Wagner of Muscatine; one son, Jason L. Wagner of Muscatine; and one brother, John Bender and wife, Christy, of Sherrard, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Eldon Wagner, 84, Eliza, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Mercer County Nursing Home.
The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate. Burial will be at Edgington Cemetery.

Mr. Wagner was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Eliza Township, Mercer County, Ill., the son of Albert F. and Gladys Irwin Wagner. He married Helen Taylor on Feb. 22, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Muscatine, and was a lifelong resident of the Eliza area.

He retired in 1982 from HON Industries, Muscatine. He had previously worked for Eliza School as a bus driver, Kent Feeds in Muscatine, Deane Frye Construction Co., Aledo, and was a farm hand for several area farmers.

Survivors include his wife; a grandson, Steven Rossnagel and wife Kristina of Amarillo, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kristopher Rossnagel, both of Amarillo; and a sister-in-law, Lois McCormick of Aledo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Eldon Eugene Wagner; a daughter, Arlene Ann Rossnagel; two sisters, Anker Marilyn Doermann and Lucille Wagner; and his stepfather, Edgar Muchow.
