Ethel G. Waddell


Ethel G. Waddell, 67, of Laramie died May 26 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Gillette to Wallace and Edith (McClendon) Hendricks.
She graduated from Campbell County High School.
She married Robert K. Waddell on Aug. 30, 1951.
She worked for Blue Bird Grocery in Casper and Prairie Publishing and Boatright-Smith. She moved to Laramie in 1968 and worked for Video USA, Travel Inn and Janet Overman's Century 21 Real Estate.
Mrs. Waddell was active in her children's schools, serving as a classroom mother and the "throat culture lady." She also worked with the Boy Scouts and Campfire Girls, Job's Daughters and DeMolay, Masonic organizations. She served as the Guardian for Bethel No. 44, Snowy Range Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Past Matrons and the First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Juanita Jo; an infant son, Thomas; and a daughter, Debra Jensen.
She is survived by her husband, Robert K. Waddell of Laramie; two sons, Robert Waddell II of Cheyenne and Clifford Waddell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Gwen Halfman of Laramie; two brothers, Kenneth Hendricks of San Diego and Wallace Hendricks of Casper; a sister, Shirley Hermann of Riverton; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church with Bob Primrose officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Farnham, Jay Farnham, Scott Davis, Chris Lundvall, Dave Hammond and Ed Denny.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Laramie Masonic Lodges, the Order of Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, and DeMolay.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.
Friends may contribute to the Snowy Range Chapter, OES, 401 Ivinson, Laramie, WY 82072 for the Masonic Charities.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Waddell.
