Nicholas J. Viverito, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1972, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2003. Nicholas was born February 28, 1918 the son of Angelo and Carmela Muscarella Viverito in New York City, New York. He served in the US Army during WW II. He had been an engine mechanic in the automotive repair business before retiring. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and the Italian American Club. Nicholas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Fanny I. Viverito of Rio Rancho; three children, Carol A. Leithead and husband John of Albuquerque, Angelo N. Viverito and wife Vivian of Decatur, GA, and Thomas J. Viverito and wife Christine of Rio Rancho; one sister, Margaret Meglio of New York City, NY; one brother, Pat Viverito and wife Rose of New York City, NY; and one grandchild, Sonja. The Visitation for Nicholas will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Thursday, November 27, 2003 from 4 PM to 8 PM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2003. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Entombment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Military Honors will be presented by the New Mexico Honor Guard. It has been suggested that Memorials be made in Nicholas's name to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, 3150 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
