Walter VanSickle died at his residence near Unionville on the 12th inst. after a severe illness of some ten days, induced by the grip.
He was the son of Andrew VanSickle and was born in the town of Minisink Sept. 11, 1829. He married Catherine VanAuken, who still survives him and their two children, a son, Walter, who resides in New York city, and a daughter, Florence, who resides at home.
Mr. VanSickle was a highly esteemed citizen beloved by all who knew him for his kind and genial nature, without a known enemy among all his acquaintances. He was a member of the Orange Baptist Church, one of its trustees for the past 15 years and was always devoted to the interests of the church.
His funeral was held from the church on Monday, 15th, at 2 p.m., his pastor using the words of Scripture, John xiv, 2, "In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so I would have told you; I go to prepare a place for you."
A large circle of relatives and neighbors were assembled at the service to pay their tribute of respect to his memory.
