Uden, Rosemary Hull
Rosemary Hull Uden, 74 of Ontario, passed away May 20, 2006 in Upland, CA. Born Sept. 7, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee, the only child of Nelson Edgar and Delia Maude (McLeary) Hull. She was a resident of Ontario for over 40 years. Mrs. Uden was raised in Tennessee until WWII, when she relocated to Southern California with her mother who came to support the war effort. She attended Chaffey High School. She met her husband, Curtis Duane Uden, while she was working as a counter girl at Hamilton's Drug in Pomona and he was a soldier in the U.S. Army Air Corps. The couple married June 30, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona. They returned briefly to Minnesota and returned to California New Year's Day 1957. Her family was of the utmost importance to her and her love for animals led her to a career as a pet shop manager. In later years, her constant companions were Bozo, Buford, Casper, Honda and Harley. Mrs. Uden was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis in Feb. 2000, her daughter, Christine McKee in Nov. 2003 and her two grandsons, Scott and Christopher Gauer. She is survived by her children, Kennith Uden of Canyonville, OR, Curt (Debbie) Uden of Redlands, CA, Carl (Lori) Uden and Mary Ann (Del) Gauer, both of Ontario; son-in-law, Greg McKee of Pomona. She was fondly and lovingly known by her 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and countless other "strays," as "Granny Grouch." Viewing will be today, May 25, 2006 f rom 5 to 8 p.m. at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Draper Chapel. Interment will be in Pomona Valley Memorial Park, Pomona.
