The Will of John TURTLE, dated 16 Nov 1885 and proved at Carlisle, Cumberland Co., England on the Twenty eighth day of July 1886, lists among the heirs: "the Children of Ann Shaw daughter of the said George Turtle"
The George TURTLE referenced in the Will was John's half brother. George md. Sarah WILSON on 28 May 1798 in Newton on Trent, Lincolnshire, England. His occupation was shoe maker/cordwainer. It appears that all of George and Sarah's children were born in Newton on Trent, but have not found a baptism for said "Ann".
Given the information on the other children of George and Sarah, we estimate Ann TURTLE was b. abt. 1812. Have not found a parish marriage record for an Ann TURTLE to a SHAW. Possibly a marriage to someone else first? Since the money goes to her children and not to her, presume that Ann was dead when John's Will was written.
Searching for information/clues regrading Ann (TURTLE) SHAW, her husband and children.
