My 3rd Gt Grandmother was Agnes Turtle who married Robert Fisher in 1846 at Cookson, Tyrone, Ireland. Their daughter Jane Eliza md my Gt Gt Grandfather Robert Porter in the Parish of Loughgilly, Newry, Co. Armagh in 1874. Their son Robert also had the middle name of Alexander and one of Jane's Grandsons was named Lancelot Alexander (the Alexander though would have come from Gt Gt Grandfather Porter's mother, Rachel Alexander of Co. Armagh). Jane and Robert did move to Co. Antrim where Robert had bought Groggan house in Groggan, near Randalstown. I'm also descended from McIntyres of Clonkeen Co. Antrim and Morrows of Ballymena Co. Antrim. There don't appear to be any Turtles in Co. Armagh apart from the marriage record of Agnes Turtle to Robert Fisher of Tullylinn, Co. Armagh and 1911 Census for Thomas Turtle in Tyrone, Armagh (who b. abt 1841, could be brother of Agnes) and I can't find a birth record for her, although a lot of Agnes Turtles born in Co. Antrim. So wondering if Agnes too is of the Turtle "clan" in Co. Antrim. It is the name Lancelot though that has me intrigued as I see quite a few of the Antrim Turtles also have the name. Do you, in your tree have an Agnes Turtle married to Robert Fisher? Their first child Jane was born in 1854, so Agnes would have been born around the 1830's I guess. Thanks for your time.
