Lots has happened in your absence. It appears that you may have the wrong Asa Turner in terms of Orange Co. NC. That was some information that apparently was confused by earlier researchers on your line.
There were two different Asa Turner's born about the same time in NC--one was from Orange Co. NC (son of Elias Turner Sr.) and went to Henderson Co, KY.
Your Asa was born in NC and went to Henry Co., TN. This latter one is the one who had son Joseph Benton Turner you mentioned.
We have documented both lines in the Turner DNA project and they do not have matching DNA signatures. So, it is clear that the two lines are totally unrelated.

Click on the word "results" on the left of the screen to see the table listed by oldest known ancestor.
Your line has one person who has tested with us (with Family Tree DNA Company NOT Ancestry.com)and is represented by Kit #15874 in our Group 17 Bright Blue.
The other Asa Turner's line is represented by #20860 in the Salmon colored group. Although we have not had anyone test who is descended specifically from Asa Turner who was from Orange Co. NC, we do have someone who is from his brother Elias Turner who tested.
Glad you are back to researching. If you are a male Turner, you may want to join us in the project by testing with us. If you are interested, please e-mail me direct.
