Joseph R. Tolerico
Joseph R. Tolerico, who resided at 640 Monges St., Hazleton, died Saturday at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Church Street Campus.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Angelo and Angeline (Dalessandro) Tolerico, resided in the area all of his life, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Prior to retiring, he was employed in area mines and was also employed, for a short period, by the Beryllium Corp.
He was a member of Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his stepfather, Angelo Cundro; sisters, Frances Fornataro and Dana Plesh; and brothers, James Tolerico and Mathew, Frank, Anthony and Dominic Cundro.
Surviving are his wife of 62 ½ years, the former Clementine Herchel; sons, Dominic, Sugarloaf; and Michael, Lakewood, Colo.; a brother; Nunzio Cundro, and sisters, Antionette Rutulo and Rose Watkins, all of Hazleton; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Fierro Funeral Home Inc., 26 W. Second St., Hazleton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 9:30 in Most Precious Blood R.C. Church.
Interment will follow in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Hazleton.
