My Fayette County Todds are not related to the John Osman Todd family. They start with James Todd (b. 1786 in York County, PA, d. 1863 in Westmoreland County, PA) who moved to Fayette County as a child. He was a Fayette County commissioner from 1815-1819, a state representative form 1819-1829, and attorney general of PA from 1835-1838. He moved to Philadelphia in 1835 for the Attorney General job. He married first Mary Cornell 30 Oct 1810. She died in 1824. He married second Jane Miller about 1824/1825. She died in 1892. He had 10 children: by his first wife: David (1812-1848), Mary (1817-1855), John (abt. 1815 - abt. 1892. By his second wife: Rebecca (1826 - abt. 1890), Elizabeth (1827 - 1847), Eliza Jane (1830 - 1872), James Jr. (1832 - 1888), Anna (abt 1834 - 1899), Henry (1836 - abt. 1915), Moses Hampton (abt 1845 - after 1930). The children settled in Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
