I too would be interested in the answer to this question. My cousin and I are in the process of in-depth research of the Edgecombe County records and, while we have found several references to Tamsey, have been unable to discover her exact relationship the the known lines. The most promising lead pertains to the Probate Sale of Estate for James THIGPEN (d. 1794). Recorded among the purchasers were only a handful of THIGPENs. All but Tamsey can be verified as children of James. That would seem to provide circumstantial evidence of a close relationship. However, we have yet to find further proof of this or any other definitive connection.
I would be interested in discussing your relationship to the lines of both Tamsey and James R. (in light of your subsequent post). The indicated individuals are both close, collateral relatives of my direct line. As such, I would be interested in any new clues that you may be able to bring to the discussion.
