I may have been unclear. It is Robert Anderson Thacker, not John. James Franklin Thacker was called "Uncle Jim Frank" by my uncle Ed Tate. Ed was a little over five when James died but Ed remembered him. He used to make chairs (those Adirondack kind you see in people's yards). I have James Franklin Thacker married to Mary Lewis Dickerson b. 1856- d. before 26 Jan 1920. I have them married in about Jan 1877. I have four children by them: Mary Ethel Apr 1889, Dickerson Clarence Sr 9 Jul 1890, Frank Asa 1 May 1893, and an unnamed child who died before 7 Jun 1900. The unnamed child is based on a census listing.
I do not have any descendants of Frank Asa Thacker in my database. A lot of my early Thacker information came from Sylvia Wright who sent it to me. Judy Bowles also sent me a lot of stuff.
From Marriages of Louisa County, Virginia 1766 - 1815; page 100 - ______ 1814. John THACKER and Betsey Lewis. Married by Rev. William Y. Hiter. Ministers returns p. 390. She is also listed as Mary in some places so I put the two names together.
I am sure you probably already know that Nathaniel Wyatt Tate was Robert A. Thacker's father in law (Sarah's father). In that time period, there were at least four Nathaniel or Nathan Tate people around. Careful when you sort them out.
Gayle King Blankenship's Book, Virginia Families of Louisa, Hanover and Monroe Counties has the Robert and Sarah Thacker family listed on page 106. I have made a number of corrections to that information but that family was peripheral and was not one her main areas of interest. She is a great gal, by the way.
I also posted Sarah Ann Tate Thacker's will on line.
