Anita or Les - Are you still here? Or anyone else:
I am looking for any connection between the Tates in Rowan to the Tates in Augusta County or Washington County, Virginia, or Cincinnati, Ohio (later), or Chester County, Pennsylvania (earlier). The Tates of Augusta County are connected to the Mitchells in Chester and Rowan. (Capt. James Tate of Augusta fought the Revolutionary Battle of Guilford Court House on property owned by his cousin Robert Mitchell of Guilford (formerly part of Rowan). A Robert Mitchell was the original executor of the estate of Robert Tate in 1793 in Cincinnati. The Tates and Mitchells both came from Ireland to Chester/Lancaster between 1682 and 1720, and some of both families moved to Augusta in 1744 and to Rowan in 1753. Both families had members move to Washington Co, Virginia, and to Kentucky very early, with some ending up in SW Ohio before Census records are available. All branches of both families were Robert, John, Thomas, James, William.
Anyone have information on these families?
