This may help some of you find the Royal connection. I comes very close, but there is someone missing. If anyone has the missing link, I would be forever grateful if you shared it! My 8x Great Grandfather was Rev. David Stuart, who in many sources is said to be "kinsman" to James the Pretender. He fled Scotland in 1715 after James failed to take the throne. He settled in Virgina, where he was the minister of The Falls Church, which still has a plaque commemoating him, I stink he was the church's first minister. He married Jane Gibbons, daughter of Sir William Gibbons, Governor of Barbados, and Hannah Jane, in 1720. They had at least 5 children, William, Mary, John, Charles, and Sarah. William was also a minister in VA. David's father was probably John, though I've only seen this in one source, and his mother was Lucy Erskine. I can follow his line all the way down to me, but no further up. I hope this helps some of you, it's been driving me crazy to be this close to finding the royal connection, and not being able to. If I find out more, I will let you know. I you want to see a descendant chart, let me know, and I'll get it to you. Later, Melissa
