Sizemore Millions

Big Fortune Alleged To Be Coming to Descendants of Ned Sizemore From U.S.

Are you related to the Sizemores of Wyoming and McDowell Counties? If so, it is reported you are entitled to share in an alleged $11,000,000 fortune reputed to be coming to the descendants of Ned Sizemore from the U.S. government. The Wyoming Mountaineer says the facts in the case are about as follows;

Some time in the early part of the 19th century Ned Sizemore married a Cherokee squaw in Georgia and when the government brought out the tribe and moved them to the Indian Territory, Sizemore and his family declined to go and take their part in the new territory but remained either in Georgia or North Carolina and were to be paid their prorata share for their lands, in money, by the Government.

One of their sons Ned Sizemore, the second, married and moved to this county or the edge of McDowell and settled and there raised a large family, one of whom is still living and is about 80 years of age.

From Ned Sizemore the 2nd, has decended a great many people in this county. Among whom are the Sizemore, the Lamberts, the Perdews, one family of the Cooks and many other, whom we do not know.

It is also stated that all, who do not established their claims as heirs of the estated by the first of January 1907 will be barred from recovery. There appears to be no doubt about these people being the real descendants of the Cherokee woman. That is the tradition or family history, and it is further stated that the grandfather Sizemore who is remembered by a number of the older citizens showed very plainly in face and form his Indian blood.

Seveal heirs of Ned Sizemore, the Wyoming county man who is alleged to have left a vast fortune now about to be paid by the government, have engaged R. Essex, the Glen Jean attorney, to investigate and get their share of the money. There are a half a dozen families in the county who claim to be related to the Sizemore and will try to share in the fortune.
