Marion McGaughey Dinges "Izzie" Siira
Marion "Izzie" McGaughey Dinges Siira, 90,
died Friday October 29, 2010 at Millcreek.
A resident of Erie all her life.
she was born December 12, 1919 .
a daughter of the late Austin K. and Florence Hartman McGaughey.
Marion was a 1938 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She had been employed at Sears & Roebuck for 17 years and left there to do custom slipcovers and drapes from her home. She was Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Shiloh Chapter, formerly the Erie Chapter.
In her early years Marion was the doubles bowling champ with Eileen Anderson in the Queens Bowling League.
She was a gardener and loved all animals.
In addition to her parents.
she was preceded in death by her one son, Robert F. Dinges, Jr.;
three sisters, Florence Crum,
and Helen Rose;
and one brother, James McGaughey.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Jane Will and her husband Dave of Greene Twp.;
daughter-in-law, Pat Dinges of Allison Park, Pa.; granddaughter, Andrea Watson and her husband Gary of Vail, Ariz.; three grandsons, Bob Will and his wife Laura of Waterford, Pa.,
Rob Dinges and his wife Joellen of Burke, Va.,
and Chris Dinges of Coraopolis, Pa.;
six great grandchildren, Danielle and Derek Watson, Jade and Rhys Will,
and Dean and Patrick Dinges.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 823 Cherry St.,
on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, 16504. Memorial contributions can be made to the Allegheny Valley School, 1996 Ewings Mill Rd. Coraopolis, PA, 15108 or the Erie Humane Society, 2707 Interchange Rd., Erie PA 16506.
