Arlene Siar, age 69, of 4380 Hillsville Road, passed away Tuesday morning at Pittsburg University Hospital.
She was born August 17, 1934 in Phillipston, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Oscar Edward and Hazel Viola Hilliard Shoup.
A 1952 graduate of Union Joint High School in Reimersburg, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Siar was a homemaker.
She and her husband were active in the scouting programs in Youngstown before moving to Pulaski, and were honored for 30 years of service in scouting in 1992. She was the committee chairwoman for the New Bedford, Pa., Troup No. 723 and was one of the organizers for the Pack No. 777 of Pulaski, having received the District Award of Merit.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 105 of New Castle, Pa., was worthy matron from 1993 to 1994 and was a past matron.
Mrs. Siar is survived by her husband, J. Dale Siar, whom she married April 4, 1953 ; three sons, James A. Siar of Campbell , William B. Siar of Pulaski and Thomas D. Siar and his wife, Rochelle Siar of New Bedford ; two grandchildren, Jonathan of Uniontown, Pa., and Shania of New Bedford ; a sister, Gladys M. Daughtery of Lowellville ; a niece, Patricia Reed of Charleston, S. C. ; and a nephew, Brian Reed of Boradman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two nephews, Bob and David Reed.
Visitation will be from 5-8 Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, New Willimgton Chapel, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., where there will be an Eastern Star Service at 8 p.m.
Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. E. Charles Smith, a friend of the family officiating.
Burial will be at Reimersburg Cemetery.
