I have quite a bit of info on Randolph Rutherford including his will. I joined the DAR with Randolph Rutherford as my patriot.
Sybil Shipley Jobe's book, I received a copy from another Shipley descendent. The following is info taken from her book. "David F. Shipley, son of Christopher and Betsy Rutherford Shipley. David F. Shipley was born about 1828 in McMinn County. He first married about 1846. His wife was dead by 1850. They had 2 children: William, Jr. born about 1847 and Mary Alvana born 1849. These two children were in the household of David's brother, Uriah, in the 1850 census. David was among the Shipley heirs who sold 10 acres of land to Philip Frye in 1850.
David married (2) Hannah Elizabeth Sharp in 1850 and they were living with her father, Robert Sharp,in the 1850 census. David sold his share of his father's land to his brother, William, in 1856.
David and Hannah moved to Roane County TN before 1860. David died before his mother's estate was settled in 1868. Hannah was named as his wife in the estate settlement and his four children were: William S., Jr., Mary A. Thomas, and David R. Shipley.
Hannah age 42 was living with the 4 children in Roane County TN in 1870. The children were William S., age 19, Mary A., age 18, Thomas 11, and David R. age 7."
I also have info on Christopher and Betsy Rutherford Shipley. My line is down his son Randolph and his marriage to Millie Lamb.
I would be happy to share what I have with you. Just let me know what you would like to have.
I did visit VA and went to Cripple Creek where Randolph lived. He was the only sibling that stayed in VA.
