Matthias Schutz, age 34, arrived in Pennsylvania in 1732 on the ship Loyal Judith out of Rotterdam. "It is known by later records that there was one son, Matthias, Jr. with his father...It is not known when Matthias, Jr. was born in Germany, but it is believed to be in the 1720s. They were members of St Michaels and Zion Church in is believed the Sheetz family came to Shenandoah County [Virginia] after 1754 and settled west of Woodstock on Narrow Passage Creek."
