Would be interested in a response from you. We have to be related. Joseph Normand and Chantale Seguin were my g+ grandparents. They bounced back and forth from Quebec and Madrid, New York. Their son, Louis Norman, is my great great grandfather. He left the New York area after the Civil War to the woods of Wisconsin, where timber was cheap. Louis Norman was born Louis Normand in Quebec and anglicized to Louis Norman. He married Marquerite Deschamps in Quebec but she anglicized name to Marjorie Dishaw. Their daugher was baptized in Quebec under the name "Marie Almeda Normand" on her christianing baptisml records through the catholic church. She went by the name Almeda Marie Norman, when anglicized. She was born in Quebec, lived in Coleman, Wisconsin, and died in Gladstone, Michigan. She was my great grandmother. Almeda Norman married Stafford W Tupper in Wisconsin. The Tupper family had good pedigrees from the first families in Massachusettes and were appalled that their son married a poor French girl from Frenchtown shanty in Wisconsin. They looked down at her, thought of her as illiterate and unable to speak English. When Stafford went to visit his parents, Almeda Norman and her children were never allowed. Stafford Tupper and Almeda Norman's daughter was my grandmother, Vera Mae Tupper. born on May 28, 1905 in Wausaukee, Wisconsin, married to Daniel Henry Robinson in 1921, and died in October, 1994 in Gladstone, Michigan. My father is one of the sons of Vera Mae Tupper and Daniel Henry Robinson. I won't disclose names of the living still.
