Surnames: SEARS, JUDD, PADDOCK, FOSTER
The James Sears in my family who was born 15 May 1776 in Lenox, died in Richford, NY 22 Feb 1847. He married Lucy Judd b. Pittsfield 28 Nov 1776 and d. Richford, NY (no date).
They were married in Lenox on 23 Dec 1798. They had two children buried in Sears cemetery in Lenox, MA. They were James (b. abt Jun 1802 d. Apr 1803) and Sophy (b. May 1801 d. 28 Nov 1801). James father was David Sears (b.1731 in Yarmouth d. 1827 in Lenox) and mother Mary Paddock (b. 1734 in Marshfield, MA, I think. d. 1826 in Lenox). Both David and Mary are buried in Sears Cemetery in Lenox. There were no Richards in David & Mary's family.
There appeared to be quite a bit of movement of the family between the Albany area and the Lenox/Pittsfield area.
And my ggg grandfather Luther Sears(brother to James) moved to Volney, NY where he died Jul 1857. I have been trying to find information on his wife, Anna Foster. She may have returned to Lenox after Luther's death, as her death is recorded in the church records. Or it may be that someone notified the church that she had died, as the church record does not say where she died, but when. She does not appear to be buried in the Sears cemetery.
Zachariah P. Sears 2nd also moved to Volney (remanded to church in Volney, NY, Aug 30, 1835. Which is probably too late for your relatives. Hope any of this helps.
Judith
