CALDWELL -- Golden S." Redcap" Sanders, 79, of Caldwell, Ohio (Noble County) passed away peacefully on Friday (March 28, 2014).
He was born on March 27, 1935, son of the late Levi and Verle McClellan Sanders of West Virginia.
Mr. Sanders was a truck driver most of his life, and was previously employed with Consolidated Freightways.
He was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 24, Akron, Ohio and Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, bowling and dog races.
He especially loved farming his land and taking care of the cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Will Sanders; and a son-in-law, Terry Arbogast.
He was loved and will be missed by his family, his wife of more than 57 years, Janice F. Fulks Sanders, whom he married Aug. 25, 1956; three daughters, Goldie Sanders, Pam Arbogast, and Teresa Sanders; two sons, Linnie Sanders and David (Robin) Sanders; 10 grandchildren, Regina (Tyson), Schelle (Jeremy), Jana, Kara (Cameron), Keith, Emma, Lyndol Jr., Kyle, Kaydee, and Marlin; a great-granddaughter, Hailey; two brothers, Jack and Harold, three sisters, Phyllis, Katie Sue and Lois Jean. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received Tuesday, April 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 2, from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West St., Caldwell, Ohio
Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Caldwell, OH.
