Looking for other Royael researchers out there with that specific spelling. The earliest Royael I can trace is my ggg grandfather, John Royael (sometimes Royal), b. 1815 NY, d. 1901 Maspeth, Queens. I asked to have this board posted in the hope other Royaels might connect to my line.

John Royael married Sarah Ann FERGUSON (b. abt. 1820 NY, d. 1877 NY) and their son, Amos Royael b. abt. 1848 Manhattan/NY married Sarah Holliday (b. OH, d. NY) between 1860-1870 (my gg grandparents). They had three children:

The first was my great grandmother Lydia Royael b. 1867 NY. She first married William LUDWIG before 1890 and then a Joseph or Peter BROHME between 1897-1905. Lydia had my grandfather, August Ludwig, and another child, Peter Brohme (later changed his last name to Lawrence) with her 2nd husband. Lydia Royael Ludwig Brohme died in 1905 and is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Queens, NY

The second child of Amos and Sarah Royael was John Royael b. abt. 1871, d. 1932 Brooklyn, married Annie Eliza LENT. They had one son, William Royael b. 1898, d. 1977 and he married Alice McGEE d. 1982. I am hoping to connect to living descendants of William and Alice Royael, who I determined were married in 1931 but cannot trace whether they had any children. Since they both lived to the 1970's and 1980's, I'm hoping they had some children between their marriage in 1931 and their deaths. They both died in Brooklyn, NY

The third child of Sarah and Amos Royael was Emma Royael b. abt. 1873 and d. 1909 Brooklyn. Emma Royael first married a Dice and had one known child who died in infancy I believe. I think she divorced Mr. Dice and definitely later married Frank CAMPBELL between 1893-1895 and had two daughters: 1. Lydia CAMPBELL b. 1895, death and marriage unknown. Lydia seems to disappear from census by 1920 and since I cannot find a death for her in NY, I am hoping she married and went on to have children. 2. Sarah/Sadie Campbell b. abt. 1897, still single in 1920. She seems to disappear by the 1930 census so again, I do not know if she married or died but hope she married and also went on to have children. And I am hoping to find living descendants of both Lydia Royael and Sarah/Sadie Royael.

Sarah Holliday Royael divorced Amos Royael in 1873 and married Richard Thompson in 1875. Emma's children were later living with Richard and Sarah Thompson in 1910. Lydia was not with them in 1920 but Sadie was, who then disappears after their deaths on the 1930 census.

So what I am hoping for is any information on:
1. John Royael and Ann Eliza (Lent) Royael (he worked as a steamfitter/pipefitter and died in 1932.
2. their son, William Royael and Alice (McGee) Royael
3. Emma Royael's dtr, Lydia Campbell b. 1895 Bklyn
4. Emma Royael's dtr, Sarah/Sadie Campbell b. abt. 1897 Bklyn

I hope this long tale strikes a cord in someone out there.
I look forward to making a connection.
