LOWELLVILLE – Mary L. Novak, 87, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio and Campbell,Ohio passed away May 6, 2011, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born March 20, 1924, in Youngstown,Ohio the daughter of Joseph and Rose Sudetic Ropar.
She was a graduate of The Rayen School's Class of 1942. She worked as a full-time bookkeeper for the Monumental Life Insurance Company in Youngstown for 32 years, and subsequently as a part-time bookkeeper for Ursuline High School, retiring in 1997.
Mary was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Croation Catholic Church in Youngstown and belonged to that church's Altar and Rosary Society, Mary also was a 69-year member of the St. George Croation Lodge No. 66 Pensioners Club.
Mary leaves behind a son, Paul M. (Susan) of Lowellville, Ohio; three granddaughters. Amy, Erin and her namesake Mary Rose. Mary also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 years, Michael Novak, who passed Oct. 16, 1975; and two brothers, Joseph M. Jr. and Charles M. Ropar.
Family and friends may call on Monday, May 9, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
