Hi, my great grandfather was Narciso de Camps Roig from Torroella de Montgri in the province of Gerona, Catalonia, Spain. I might be confused but I think his father Ygnacio de Camps was appointed head of Customs in Cuba in the late 1800's the family history says that he died within 2 weeks of arriving in Cuba and they don't know whether he died of yellow fever or he was poisoned. He apparently is buried in one of the cathedrals in Cuba (?) His family then left for Puerto Rico and they went back and forth to Spain. My grandmother, Ana de Camps Cintron, was born on a trip back to Spain in Torroella de Montgri and then moved back to Puerto Rico as a child and then she moved to La Vega in the Dominican Republic where she was a teacher. One of her most famous students was her cousin Juan Bosch, President of the Dominican Republic.
