My great grandmother was Johanna Purcell Beahan. Her father was Michael Purcell who was born in Ireland in 1818 and died 8 Nov 1884 in Lilas (Irish Creek) Kansas and is buried in St. Josephs Cemetery there.
Johanna Purcell Beahan died in 1949 in Chicago and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, Illinois. She was married to John J. Beahan. Also buried there is her son Christopher Daniel Beahan(d1961),daugther Mary Joyce Beahan Burns(d1996 or 8) 2 very young children around 10 years old. Also my mother(Johanna's grandaughter who used to walk my mother to Catholic Church)) Joyce Frances Beahan Devaney is buried there(2004).
Johanna had a sister Nellie(and other siblings) whose grandaughter(77) and great grandson(47) are living in Wisconsin. I was sent a picture of Johanna and Nellie standing on roof of St. Mels Church in Chicago in 1930 where Mgr. Francis Purcell(Johannas 1st cousin) was. The Msgr died in March 1963 and is buried in Mt. Olivet cemetery, south side of Chicago.
Johanna Purcell was 88 when she was the Queen of Honor at a big southside parade inabout 1947 as she was so well known/respected in Hyde Park and surrounding communities. i am 55 if that helps the timeline.
