Edna C. (Prindle) Stevens Erdman, 99, of Lake City, Pa.,
passed away peacefully on Sunday July 31, 2016,
at Manchester Commons, following a lengthy stay.
She was born in Cranesville, on January 4, 1917,
a daughter of the late Leland D. and Emma (Johnston) Prindle.
Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Ivan Stevens, her second husband, Earl (Red) Erdman and her daughter, Patricia (Pat) Strobel. She was employed for over 30 years at Marx Toys, also known as The Model Works, located in Girard, Pa. She also worked alongside her dear friend of many years, Catherine "Kate" Platz, who was involved with home remodeling. Edna loved to watch baseball games, especially the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians. She enjoyed bowling and participated in a mixed-couples league. Her favorite activity was sitting with family and friends at the kitchen table for coffee, cookies, and conversation. Edna was best known for her loving and caring ways, as well as her infectious, joyful laughter. Edna is survived by her son-in-law, Jerry Strobel of Girard, Pa., and his fiancée, Sue Anderson of Girard, Pa., grandson, Dale Strobel (Colleen) of Waterford, Pa., granddaughter, Kim Cornelius (Amon) of Waterloo, Iowa, great-grandchildren, Patricia White (Michael) of North East, Pa., Jerry J. Strobel of Erie, Pa., Amy Avis (Brian), and Ashley Zilmer (Doug), all from Waterloo, Iowa. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren, Abby and Deklan Avis of Waterloo, Iowa. Her family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Manchester Commons who cared for Edna during her stay. An extra special thank you is extended to Nermina, Mary, and Anthony who treated her as if she was one of their own. No calling hours will be observed; a memorial service will be held for immediate family only. Arrangements are entrusted to Edder Funeral Home, Inc., Girard, Pa.
