Jeanne,
I expect that the UK Pouchee Family will be related to my ancestors but I have never been able to find any links outside of the USA.
My earliest Pouchee records are for Gabriel Pouchée who married Sarah WIlliams on July 26, 1726 in Ipswich, Essex County, MA, USA. We believe Gabriel was born about 1706 in France. The Pushee, Pushie and Pushea families are descendents of Gabriel and Sarah Pouchée. The spelling of Pouchée was changed to Pushee by the first generation offspring of Gabriel and Sarah. Pushie and Pushea came later. Generally speaking there are more Pushee's in the US than in Canada and more Pushie's in Canada than in the US. Pushea is a very rare spelling in the US.
I'm very interested in leariing more about the Pouchee family in the UK. I noticed that if you search Ancestory.com for Pouchee there are a few hits. Last time I looked (several years ago) there were none.
I do have a hand written record somewhere of an Elizabeth Pushee getting married in St. Pauls, Coventy Garden (I think),in the mid 1800's. I'll post it when I find it.
Anxious to hear back from you.
