Mrs. Bertha Pieper, sixty-seven years old, died this morning at her home on Niagara Falls boulevad after a lingering illness, induced by a paralytic stroke. Mrs. Pieper was born in Germany. During the past fifty-three years she resided here. Surviving are a husban, William Pieper, six daughters, Mrs. Frank Sasse, Buffalo, Mrs. William Heidenfeldt, Mrs. William Strassburg, Mrs. Albert Warblow and Mrs. Edward Hardy, North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Edward Doebler, North Ridge; two sons, William Pankow and Arthur Pieper, North Tonawanda; thrity-eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Augusta Holler, Buffalo and two brothers, William Behm North Tonawanda, and Charles Behm Ransomville. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 at the late residence and half an hour later at the St. John’s church, St. Johnsburg, Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s cemetery, St. Johnsburg.
