John,

In my post about Zacharius PFISTER, I am trying to determine if the man who immigrated to Millvale, PA was the brother of my 2nd great grandmother, Marianna PFISTER.

Their parents were Dominicus PFISTER (b. 24 Jul 1808, d. 24 Jun 1879) and Barbara PFISTER (b. 5 Dec 1813, d. 9 Jan 1876). (Yes, a PFISTER-PFISTER marriage, although I don't know if they were related.)

This Dominicus was the son of another Dominicus PFISTER (b. 20 Mar 1771, d. 17 Mar 1853) and Agatha HAIZMANN (b. 5 Feb 1777, d. 5 Feb 1845).

His parents were yet another Dominicus PFISTER and his wife Margaretha GASSNER.

So there were 3 successive generations of men named Dominicus PFISTER in my line.

I haven't documented this myself yet, but I believe the parents of this Dominicus PFISTER were Johan PFISTER and Anna Maira FLAIZ.

All of these people were born and died in Gruol, except for my 2nd great-grandmother, who emigrated here with her sister Bernhardina and her future husband Rheinhard MÜNZER in 1867. They took the steamer New York and arrived at NYC on 9 Dec 1867, and they were married in Pittsburgh on 15 Dec 1867. There are still MÜNZERs in Gruol today, along with PFISTERs.
