South Wayne, Wisconsin
Died: PERRY--AT his home in South Wayne, on Monday, April 3, 1905, David T. Perry, aged 95 years, 3 months, and 9 days. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10:30, at the F.B. Church, the Rev. M.J. Jewett officiating. The interment was in the Eastman cemetery.
David Thurston Perry was born in Jefferson County, New York, Dec. 25, 1809. In 1832 he was married to Polly Howard, and to this union five children were born, two of whom survive him. In 1837 he immigrated to Illinois, where he was one of the earliest settlers, residing on a farm near Lena, Ill., for fifty years. In 1890 he came to South Wayne, where he has since resided. In 1879 he was united in a second marriage to Mrs. Mary Bennett, and to this union were born two children, who, with the widow, are left to mourn his loss.
At the age of 22 he became a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, of which he was still a member at his death. For the past twelve years he has been a helpless invalid, and his life of Christian patience and contentment has been an inspiration to all who knew him.
