YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Juanita Smith Williams, 63, departed this life Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 3:55 a.m. at Orange Village Care Center, following an extended illness.
She was born July 21, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana the daughter of Lucius and Lillie Brown Pea.
Mrs. Williams was employed with St. Elizabeth Health Center as a Phlebotomist for 30 years, before retiring in 2003.
She was a member of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed gospel music.
Mrs. Williams was a 1965 graduate of South High School.
She married Jerome Williams Sr. 30 years ago.
Besides her husband of Hubbard, she leaves to mourn three sons, Isaac Smith, Tremayne Smith and Jerome Williams Jr., all of Youngstown; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Danica (Anwar) Cooper of Columbus; one sister, Ms. Crystal Rowland of Youngstown; eight grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Marie Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the Greater Friendship Baptist Church.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon (one hour prior to service) at the church.
Burial will be at Belmont Park Cemetery.
