Alex, I am seeing a post of yrs on ancestry almost 15 yrs told. I'd like to ask you to Ydna test yr Pena dna and establish yr line. My husband and his father both tested and are R-M269. This Ydna has a concurrence = 4 for surname Pena and the 3rd match is a guy (now deceased) whose line was out of both San Antonio and Webb County (Starr), Texas as well as northern MX. I bet you are this line.
Of the 19 families who founded Tamal. Mx 4 were Pena families (2 males and two were wives) so the Pena line is strong in south Texas. There is another Pena line out of San Antone which is completely separate. I have researched them back but not to date so I could not posit a guess about that line but I think from what I know you'd match our Ydna which is R-M269. Any way, there is 4th guy who matches our Ydna but he has no ancestors listed nor a fam tree for us to know anything about his Pena line. I have emld him a few times but he does not respond which is typical from FTdna.

I look forward to hearing from you!
