WILTON, Iowa -- Eldon G. Paulsen, 87, Wilton, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at the Wilton Care Center, Wilton.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. The Rev. Darin Lovelace will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalists Joy Duffe and Henry Bentley. Pallbearers are Dan Paulsen, Dave Paulsen, Dr. Mike Schreck, Larry Schlapkohl, Eldred Meier, Darryl Paulsen and Dick Paulsen. Honorary pallbearers are Darrol Price, Paul Finck and Gerald Schlapkohl. Burial will be at Durant Cemetery, Durant.

Memorials may be made to the Durant Lions Club.

Mr. Paulsen was born Oct. 21, 1914, in Scott County, the son of William and Anna Griebel Paulsen. He married Dorothy W. Schlapkohl Jan. 7, 1942, in Davenport.

He farmed most of his life in Cedar County.

He was a charter member of the Durant Lion's Club and a member of the Muscatine Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sheryl Mack of Blue Grass and Joy Duffe and husband Gary of Moscow; a brother, Billie Paulsen and wife Margie of Durant; three granddaughters, Brooke Cozad, Jill Mack and Leah Duffe; and a grandson, Ryan Duffe.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Nolte and Irene Paulsen; and a brother, Wilbert Paulsen.
WEST BRANCH, Iowa -- Martha E. Paulsen, 91, West Branch, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Crestview Care and Rehab Center, West Branch.

The Rev. Bob Boudewyns will officiate the services. Burial will be at West Branch Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Paulsen was born Nov. 18, 1913, in Carlisle, Penn., the daughter of Jacob and Ethel Burkholder Thumma. She married Harvey Paulsen Feb. 20, 1935, in Tipton. He preceded her in death in 1980.

She attended Gower Township School near Cedar Valley.

They farmed for 40 years in the Springdale area before moving to West Branch in 1976. She was also employed by Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, in the surgical sterilization department for 18 years.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Ladies of the Moose and Eagles in Iowa City.

Survivors include a daughter, Faye Grobin and husband Joseph of Coralville; a grandson, Stephen Grobin; and three great-grandchildren, Derek, Megan and Michael; two sisters, Fern Stubbs of Holcombe, Wis., and Evelyn Mitchell of West Branch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Brad; and a brother, Howard.
