I don’t know anything about why he never talked to the family again but the family line I have is;

Patrick O’Brien (1785-1881) wife Mary Scalan (1785-1875)
Children: John O’Brien (1815-1882) and Patrick O’Brien (1809-1890)

Patrick O’Brien married Bridget Walsh (1826-1909)
Children: Michael (1838-1896), Maurice (1842-1919), Mary (1843-1925), Ellen (1847-1938), Bridget (1849-1907), John (1852-1926), Daniel (1855-1941), James (1883-1912)
(I have lines of each child for a point)

Maurice O’Brien married Mary Ann Quilty (1844-1883)
Children: Patrick (1867-1957), Nicholas (1870-1922), Johanna (1873-1960), Mary Ann (1875-1899), Margaret (1877-1971), Ellen (1879-1931), Honorah (1881-1954)
(I have lines of each child for a point)

I’m a seventeenths from Daniel (1855-1941), he would be my second great grandfather

I have that all children lived in the Renfrew County area as children but most would have scattered into the United States.

Let me know if this information matches what you have in your tree and if it does I’d really like to know more about your line so I can fill in the blanks.
