Robert R. “Bob” Mutchler, 57, Loveland, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at his home.
Bob was born June 24, 1947, in Rapid City, S.D., to Arnold (“Red”) and Mary (Slowey) Mutchler. He grew up in Rapid City, graduating from Rapid City Central High School in 1965. He attended college at Black Hills State College and graduated from the University of South Dakota Vermillion in 1969.
In the 1970s, he moved to and made his home in Colorado. He owned and operated his own business, Game Sales International Inc., in Loveland, for more than 20 years with his wife, Brenda (Coots) Mutchler, whom he married in August 1984.
Bob always loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and horseback riding. He loved to travel, and during the course of his business he was able to visit such places as the Fiji Islands, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Bob also had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs, and always had a canine friend by his side. He leaves behind two special canine companions, Shiloh and Tate.
Memorials have been established to the Humane Society of the Black Hills in Rapid City, S.D., and the Larimer Humane Society in Fort Collins.
Bob will be dearly missed by his family, friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Brenda; two stepchildren, Lawrence Coots, Loveland, and Lynne Patterson, Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Jane Ryan and her husband Gerry, of Helena, Mont., and Rita Hyk and her husband Stephen, of Rapid City; a brother, Thomas and his wife Laura, of Silesia, Mont.; one niece, six nephews and one great-nephew. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, “Red” in 2001, and his mother, Mary, in 2002.
A family funeral service was previously held on Jan. 22, 2005, in Rapid City, S.D.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at the Ptarmigan Country Club, located at 5416 Vardon Way, Fort Collins.
