BIG STONE GAP, Va. — James Mullins, 69, died Saturday (March 10, 2001) at Norton Community Hospital.
He was born in Dickenson County, Va., the son of the late Fate and Janie (Witt) Mullins. He had resided in Big Stone Gap for the past 34 years. He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue Mullins; three daughters, Cheryl Durham, Duffield, Va., Donna Lawson, Wabash, Ind., and Rita Lytle, Appalachia, Va.; one son, Charles Mullins, Big Stone Gap; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters, Sue Mullins and Francis Kemp, both of Clintwood, Va., and Mary Plaster, Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Bill Mullins, Clintwood, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Michael Dalton officiating.
Burial will follow in American Legion Cemetery.
