MOSLEY, EDMOND July 10, 1914 to March 17, 2004 Edmond Mosley was born in Beirut, Lebanon, to Salha (Salame) and Bakri Eskenazi. After the death of his father, his mother brought Edmond, age 6, and his two brothers to New York, where she supported the family by making French style millineries. Edmond grew up in Long Island, and then attended the University of Chicago and worked in the family linen stores. Edmund graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 1937. After years of running the linen stores, he began to practice law, his passion, in the late 1950s. Edmond and Pauline, his wife and soulmate, retired to La Jolla, Calif, in 1980. Their dream of "growing old in heaven" was realized. They made wonderful friends, became involved in their beloved intellectual pursuits, and enjoyed daily walks along the ocean followed by stimulating conversations over coffee at the Pannikin, and with other members of the Independent Scholars. When Pauline died in 1999, Edmond continued to enjoy their favorite pursuits. Edmond will be missed for his intellect, humor, kindness, quiet strength, and constant willingness to help others. He is survived by his three children, Sandra (Roland), Gail (Gary), and Kim (Linda), his six grandchildren, and his six great-grandchildren Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com
