BURIED IN THE PAGE CEMETARY, MARION STAR 18JULY 1903
Funeral of Issac MeWherter Is Held This Morning.
The Acting Coroner Finds There Was No Foul Play.
Concludes That MeWherter Was a Victim of Heart Trouble--It Develops That MeWherter Left Home Wednesday From Which It is Thought He Might Have Died Two Days Age.
Mr. Issac MeWherter who was found dead on the bank of the Big Scioto river about two miles southeast of Longville, Friday, as was stated in the Star of that date, died of heart trouble.
Justice of the Peace, Joseph F. Camp of Big Island township, acted as coroner and examined several witnesses among them being Messrs. W. J. Jones, D Shauser and James Mitten, who found the body. Many people had passed and saw him there the day before but did not suspect that he was dead.
The deceased was subject to heart trouble. Justice Camp returned a verdict, declaring that death was due to some unknown cause, "probably fits or otherwise," and gave it as his opinion that there was no foul play. The old man had no valuables. He frequently left his home just west of Longville and spent several days fishing, leaving home the last time, Wednesday.
The deceased leaves a wife and one son, the latter living on Davids street this city. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock, this morning, from the house, followed by internment in the Page cemetary, five miles south of this city.
