[p.1043] BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS
Edith b. 6-29-1793.
Edith is buried with her second husband, Francis Smith in the Plainfield Cemetery in Linton Twp, Coshocton county, Ohio.
It list her as having died on June 19, 1868 and her age as 75 yrs 11 months and 19 days. By using the Ancestry.com Birthday calculator it computes her birth date as June 31, 1792. It is off by a year, but still believe that Edith was the daughter of Thomas Atkinson and Ruth Harvey.
If use the date of death from the death record, it would be June 31, 1793 as her birthdate.
In the 1860 census, indicatates born in NC. pg 112A, Coshocton county, Ohio.

1813, 11, 23. Edith (formerly Atkinson) dis mcd
I believe this is when she married James Markee on Nov. 23, 1813, and she was then discharged.
Edith Atkinson Markee and Francis Smith had the following children:
Sarah Smith wed Benjamin Williams
Finley Smith wed Elizabeth Hawk (I think)
Francis A. Smith wed Sarah E. Wells
Daniel A. Smith wed Mary Barcroft
Nathaniel Smith wed Susan Norris (I think) Nathaniel died during the Civil War.
Francis Smith was in the War of 1812. He was born in Virginia. His death record indicates that his mother was a Wells. I have not found his parents yet. A short obit indicates that he was related to an Edward Wells of Coshocton.
