Unfortunately, the Male part of the tree is worst when it comes to details.

From what we knew, gg grandpa Charles Glenny married Mary Louise Male, who died in 1903 after giving birth to a Nellie L Glenny (1888-1891), and then married her sister, Clair, from whom we descend. According to the grave markers, she lived from 1880-1972 and is buried here with Charles. Weirdly, the Winnebago County annals say Mary Louise died with her child in 1888 *shrugs*

My sister-in-law researched names through film and found a record of a Charles W. Glenny (born 1862 in Colborne District, Ontario) marrying a Mary Louise Male (born March 28 1866 in Colborne) on Jan 5 1888 in Colborne. But my gg grandpa's middle name was Albert, and he was born in 1865. Still, the probability of those two names on a marriage record in the same year and the same area is highly unlikely. This same record names Mary the daughter of a Job Male and Mary Louisa (Scott). My sister-in-law found two records for Job Male, both born in Ontario Canada in 1847 or 1844.

Then, as I mention, I just uncovered a census record putting both a Vinna MC and Mary L in the Males house (Males, not Male). According to the entry, they were daughters of Job and Elizabeth Males, sisters to Ida EA and Hellen MM. The birth years match up quite close, and so I'm prone to believe this is my family: Vinna MC (June 2 1880), Mary L (March 28 1866), Ida EA (c 1874), Hellen MM (c 1877). They were living in Ontario at the time, and Job was employed as a blacksmith.

I've been told by my mom and late grandfather that gg Grandma Glenney was full blood Native American, and I'm honing in on this branch in order to find out which tribe she's from. There is a constant mix up of middle names and first names, which, with the double middle initials in the census record for their children, I'm prone to believe that those could stand for Native American names, as in Joe Standing Bear Smith. It's a theory, at least. I don't know for sure yet.

I'm sorry I can't give you anything on the Battys. That name has never come up in my search at all.
