Yes, It has been quite a while. I trust you are well.

It appears that your "Brick Wall" is Derry !
The IFHF has:
"A" Agnes Dunn married in Derry in 1829.
"A" Pat Malarkey married in Armagh in 1829, Not neccessarily to one another.
No marriage for Daniel Malarkey anywhere (1825 - 1845)
No births for Luke Malarkey in Ireland at all !
"A" Daniel Malarkey had 6 children in Ireland between 1825 & 1845 ----- 5 Girls & 1 Boy, with 2 in Mayo & 4 in Sligo.
There are only 2 birth records in Derry prior to 1864, when it became required.

I think you need to look in Scotland for a birth record for Luke. OR a Name variation to Malarkey -- Mullarkey / Mularky / Melarkey. My research has determined that numerous Malarkey Variations were in the Border Region of Mayo / Sligo and the GV and 1901 Census only has them in Sligo.

This reply has not been too encouraging, but at least gives some alternatives to your "to-date" lack of information.

In reviewing my Notes / records, I have not come across a Luke nor a Daniel in Ireland, that rang a bell for me.

I know will will continue to search, as I have, for additional pieces of the puzzle, we call Family History.

Good Luck & conitued good health.

My James Mularkey & Mary Caviston Malarkey were from Mayo / Sligo Border area, married about 1864 and immigrated shortly afterward, showing up in the 1870 Census in Archbald, Pennsylvania. Their 2 oldest girls, listed as daughters, were probably Nieces born in Ireland & came over with James & Mary. Their Father was probably John Malarkey.
My Michael Malarkey, did not immigrate until May of 1880, and appears as a son, a week later on the 1880 Census with James and Mary Malarkey. Again, probably not their son, but a Nephew, (Parent Unknown).
