Westport — Verna Mae Lydamore, 91, of North Main Street, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at her home.
She was born in Westport on March 25, 1909, the daughter of Vernon and Amy (Still) Gough.
She is survived by one son-in-law, Ross Carson of Kentucky; four grandsons, Terry Lydamore of Lewis, Craig Carson of Colorado, Gregory Carson of Virginia and Rupert Carson of Kentucky; one granddaughter, Cheryl Griffith of Arizona; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Lydamore; one son, Marshall Lydamore; and a daughter, June Carson.
She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a very active member of the Westport Federated Church and later of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. She was well known for her bright and friendly spirit as well as her beautiful hand crocheted afghans.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 16th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17th, at 4 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Westport. Burial will follow at the North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
