I have read messages from the Rizors, Melchoir, Russell, etc. and am confused about this line. Using the Bromwell Genealogy it lists Jacob Leffler m. Catherine Miller with Jacob b. Jun 9, 1745. He migrated through Hagerstown, MD as his first child was born there. He moved to Washington Co, PA where land referred to as Sylvia's Plain was granted Feb 17, 1785. He apparently died about 1785 as there is a record of his widow remarrying Rev. Jasper Simler near 1786. Their children listed: Anna Margaret b. Dec 25, 1762 m. Daniel Rice/David Craig; John Jacob b. Aug 9, 1767 m. Jane Smith; Anne Mary b. Jan 15, 1769, Elizabeth b. Feb 19, 1774 m. Henry Rice, Isaac b. Dec 4, 1777 m. Margaret Vance, Catherine b. Apr 21, 1782 m. Peter Miller.
However, I also see these same children listed as belonging to Jacob Leffler and spouse Elizabeth Hewitt. Also Jacob referred to as Capt. Jacob Leffler of Funkstown records with these same children. Some also have included Henry b. 1765 (?), Peter b. 1772 (?),
Elizabeth died in Corydon, IN in 1831.
I believe Jacob's brother, George, came through Shelby Co., KY and later to Harrison Co., IN where my line of Leffler's descends through his son, Peter.
However, I would very much like to sort out the beginnings. Thanks for all correspondence to firstname.lastname@example.org
