Harold L. "Jim" Kryder, 83,
of 209 Oak St., Jersey Shore, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born May 19, 1925 in Lock Haven,PA,
he was the son of J. Kenneth Kryder and the former Winifred Straub.
Jim is survived by his wife, the former Betty F. Miller. They were united in marriage June 15, 1948 in Trinity United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore.
Jim was employed by Bethlehem Steel Co. from 1951 until he retired in 1988.
He enjoyed history and geography. For many years he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
During World War II, he served in the United States Navy.
Also surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Judy K. (Chris) Worley of Hamilton, Ohio; two sons, Robert G. Kryder of Jersey Shore and Paul Kenneth (Janet) Kryder of Jersey Shore; six grandchildren, Brandon, Breanna, Larissa, Keri, Joshua and Juan P. Maggs; three great-grandchildren, Cory, Jamie and Jessie. Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl L. Rader.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 at 12 noon in Trinity United Methodist Church, at the corner of Allegheny and Glover streets in Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services in the church. The Rev. Jack Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to Trinity United Methodist Church.
