died at Presbyterian Homes, Erie Lodge,
Friday, July 13, 2012.
Born in Erie,
he was a son of the late Francis "Frank" and Monica (Tyczkowski) Krasinski. Richard graduated from Erie Technical Memorial High School in 1946. He entered the U.S. Army on November 1, 1950 and was headquartered at the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation and in Korea, where he was wounded in combat. He was awarded many medals including: the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal, United Nations Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. Richard was separated from active duty, at the rank of Private First Class, on August 8, 1952. He worked for many years as a toolmaker at Haysite Reinforced Plastics until his retirement in 1992. Richard enjoyed wood crafting, metal detecting, and travelling, especially to Michigan, Maine and Colorado. He liked to fish and hunt. He enjoyed country & western music and polka dancing with his wife. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Helen R. (Konieczko) Krasinski, who died in 2003. Survivors include two children, Richard A. Krasinski, wife Judy and Lori A. McGranor, husband Russ, both of Erie; a brother, Henry Krasinski, wife Ronnie, of Erie; a sister, Rita Desser, of Erie; three grandchildren, Kerry A. Krasinski, Erica E. Krasinski and Richard F. Krasinski, wife Billie, all of Erie; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Hamilton, of Erie; two step-grandchildren, Russell McGranor, wife June and Matt Geer, wife Beth, both of Erie; and seven step-great-grandchildren, Paige, Mackenzie, Nick, Kelsey, Madi, Lexi and Benjamin, all of Erie. Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. To all friends and family: "Wait a wall". Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 E. 38th St., at Pine Avenue, Monday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m., with Msgr. William E. Biebel, Pastor of St. Peter Cathedral, officiating. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, with full military honors, will follow. Richard's family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 2115 W. 38th St., Erie, PA 16508 or Mass intentions in Richard's name.
