Hi Beverly,
We seem to have a match here. My Gr-gr-gr-grandparents were Margarete Simmerer and Adam Kogler. I am related through their son George. Part of the family history that I found was - On page1358 of Western PA John M. Koegler of Wilson, PA, third generation in the US., writes that "...grandfather Koegler, a blacksmith came to the US in 1843 and settled on the South Side of Pgh. He brought with him several sons who found employment in the glass manufacturing establishments of the district. in fact the Chambers Glass Company were instrumental in bringing the family to the US. The sons all entered the employ of the Chambers Company, but several years later established in other lines. There were four sons and four daughters in the original Koegler family founded in the US by Grandfather Koegler, the blacksmith; 1. Adam, originally a glass blower, later established a carpet store at 1316 Carson Street, Pgh, that is yet conducted by the sons. 2. George, died at age 40, was an expert glass blower. 3. William F., of further mention.l 4. Gottleib, enlisted in the Union army and died during the Civil War. %. Margaret, married William Hale, a glass blower of Pgh., South Side. 6. Augusta, married Charles Brack, also a glass blower of the South Side. 7. Elizabeth, married Elias Gunter, and resided near her sisters. 8. A daughter, died in infancy. ..." Continued under notes for William F. Koegler.
