First of all. Adams mills is a town in Muskingum Co., OH. I sits along State Route 16, near the Coshocton Co., line. A little more than half way between Newark, Licking Co., OH and Coshocton, Coshocton Co., OH. As a matter of fact, the cemetery in Adams Mills is 3/4 in Muskingum Co., and the northern 1/4 is in Coshocton Co. In the cemetery are three Casner's, Andrew, Spencer and Mary. Also in the cemetery are a lot of Barto and Tilton's. These I will come to later.
My grandmother claims that the Casner's were centered around that area. One of the larger towns near Adams Mills is Dresden, Muskingum Co. Which is the home of Longenburger, and the Longenburger baskets. Adams Mills was a canal town along the Ohio & Erie Canal, which continued south to Buckeye Lake, Licking Co., OH.
According to Spencer's family bible, his grandfather was John Kassner and Susannah. Spencer's father was also John. I'll refer to him as John Jr., so I don't confuse you.
What I know about John Kassner and wife, Susannah, and their descendants follows:

Spencer m. Mary Elizabeth Hagar July 14, 1870, Muskingum Co., OH (family legend says that her father, Joseph Hager (Hawker) was of Indian decent, my mother has the facial features of American Indian. Also through another cousin, she states that family is peppered with the dark skin, high cheek bones dark eyes and hair color all charaistic of Indian decent) Spencer served with the Ohio Infantry. Spencer is listed at the Church of Christ web site on family history. The woman who has posted that information is now deceased, I have been trying to get with her daughter to copy all the information she has. She had collected information for 25 years.
