Yes, the word kapusta means cabbage in Slovak.
Up to 1918 it was A-H http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/austhung.htm After the fall of A-H empire several new countries were formed and one was Czechoslovakia www.cgsi.org which in 1993 separated into Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.
